/ About
Sabor is Nieves Barragán Mohacho's Spanish restaurant on Heddon Street, the pedestrianised lane off Regent Street, open since 2018 and holding a Michelin star ever since. The name means flavour, and the cooking runs from the tapas bars of Andalucía to the seafood houses of Galicia and the asadors of Castile. The ground floor keeps three connected spaces: La Mesa, a tiled tapas room; the Counter, a walk-up bar seating overlooking the kitchen; and a standing bar lined with Spanish bottles, sherry on tap and a marble top, set against exposed brick and hand-painted Sevillian tiles.
Upstairs is El Asador, reached by a wrought-iron spiral staircase and built around a wood-fired oven for the Segovian suckling pig and copper pans for Galician octopus. The room looks down over its own open kitchen, with banquette seating, bare brick and chest-height communal tables, and it is the part of Sabor available for exclusive private hire, taking up to 25 guests with its own kitchen running the room independently of the floors below.
This is a restaurant for an intimate seated event rather than a late-night party: the appeal is a one-Michelin-star kitchen, a genuinely characterful Mayfair-fringe room and a private floor with its own cooking theatre. Hire is arranged through the events team, who set the menu and service to the occasion.
