/ About
Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay occupies a mirrored, gilded room on the first floor of The Savoy, looking down over the hotel's forecourt on the Strand. It takes its name from the year Georges Auguste Escoffier arrived at the hotel, and the kitchen keeps his classical French repertoire close: a tasting-menu format that reworks his mother sauces and Savoy-era dishes through British produce and current technique. Executive head chef James Sharp holds a Michelin star, awarded in 2024 and held since, alongside four AA Rosettes.
With ten tables and 24 covers, it is one of the smaller dining rooms of its standing in London, which is much of its appeal for a private event. The whole restaurant, its adjoining bar and its wine list included, can be taken exclusively for a seated dinner of up to 26 or a standing reception of 40. Enquiries are handled by the restaurant's dedicated events team.
