Painters' Hall

Painters' Hall is the livery hall of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers, tucked down Little Trinity Lane a short walk from Mansion House. The Company has held the site since 1504; the present building dates to 1961, rebuilt after bomb damage in the Second World War, and combines panelled Georgian and Victorian survivals with a City hall built for modern events.

Three rooms are available for hire. The Livery Hall, on the first floor and the largest of the three, runs stained glass bearing the arms of former Lord Mayors along one wall, under a crystal chandelier and a run of oval skylights, with Royal portraits from the late seventeenth century onward hung either side. The Court Room, hung with royal charters and portraits of the Company's past Masters, holds a stained glass window said to mark a visit from Charles II during the Great Fire of 1666. The Painted Chamber is smaller: an eighteenth-century boardroom whose painted panels survive from the earlier hall, set around a single polished table.

The Hall runs its own in-house events and catering team, and has hosted City banquets, receptions, weddings and corporate dinners. Full air conditioning, wifi and a lift to the first floor are standard throughout.
