/ About
Banking Hall occupies the 1930s headquarters of Lloyd's Bank on Cornhill, a Grade II listed Art Deco building two minutes from Bank station. Two private entrances, one on Cornhill and one on Lombard Street, lead straight into the Main Hall. Restoration kept the marble columns, the moulded ceilings and the Lloyd's emblem mosaic set into the floor.
The Main Hall runs to 650 square metres of open plan under a glazed coffered ceiling, with a bifurcated staircase at its centre and an elevated stage at one end. It takes 440 standing or 250 for a seated dinner. Above it, on the mezzanine, the Counting Room holds 200 standing around a brass-topped bar, with windows over the Bank of England and the Royal Exchange. A small meeting room off the same level doubles as a green room. The building is let on exclusive use, so one party takes both floors and neither is shared.
Rigging, lighting, sound and staging are pre-installed and adapted per event by the venue's production partner, and catering comes from an in-house kitchen. Published event timings run to midnight, with a late licence available on request. The hall has doubled for banks, government offices and hotels on screen, in Mary Poppins Returns, The Crown and Killing Eve among others.
