/ About

Oscar is the ground-floor restaurant and bar of the Charlotte Street Hotel, Kit Kemp's Fitzrovia address for Firmdale. The dining room is defined by a full-length painted mural that runs the length of the banquettes, set against blue leather chairs and layered English prints. It trades as a Fitzrovia brasserie in the modern British and European register, open from breakfast through to dinner, and named for the private cinema the hotel keeps downstairs.

The bar is the room's social centre, running one full side beneath a line of low pendant lights, with a lounge of striped tub chairs set in front of it. The cocktail list leans on a house single-cask reserve tequila, and the bar stays open to midnight. In warmer months the frontage opens onto a terrace of café tables along Charlotte Street, planted with bay topiary and heated for year-round use.

Oscar takes private events through Firmdale's events team, from receptions in the restaurant and bar to sit-down dining in the hotel's adjoining ground and lower-ground rooms. Weekend brunch is a fixture, with live acoustic music on Saturday afternoons.
