/ About

Nipa Thai is the Thai restaurant on the first floor of Royal Lancaster London, opposite Hyde Park. The dining room is lined in teak sourced from Thailand, and the name means “shining light” in Thai. The kitchen is all Thai and all female, led by Head Chef Sanguan Parr, who has cooked here for more than 25 years. Restaurant Manager Kaseam Jongpitakrat has been here as long. The Thai Government has given the restaurant its Thai Select Award for authenticity.

For a private party the restaurant is taken whole, for 40 to 55 guests, and a smaller group can hire it for private dining on the hotel’s terms. There are no sectioned areas, so a party has the entire room to itself. The kitchen writes special menus and table cards for groups, and the hotel’s pastry chefs make cakes to order. A lift runs from the street-level lobby to the first floor. The restaurant publishes no music or licensing policy, so confirm amplified sound and finish times at enquiry.
