/ About
Montcalm Mayfair occupies a Grade II listed Georgian crescent on Wallenberg Place, a short walk north of Marble Arch. The hotel traded for decades as The Montcalm London Marble Arch, closed in March 2023 and reopened in April 2025 under Marriott's Autograph Collection after a two-year renovation. Holland Harvey led the architecture; Studio Est took the public rooms, the restaurant, the bar and the Grand Ballroom, and Studio Mica the 151 bedrooms and suites. The design runs on a garden theme, which reads as painted ceilings, botanical marquetry and a lot of planting rather than as pastiche.
The arrival hall is the room that sets the register: fluted columns, a chequer-set stone floor and a plaster relief behind the reception desk. Lilli by Akira Back is the hotel's restaurant and its only London outpost, serving Korean-inspired cooking with Japanese technique and British produce; its bar sits under a ceiling mural by Will Foster. Bloom, the private dining room off the restaurant, takes 14 at one table between lit bookcases. Downstairs, the YATRA Signature Spa holds four treatment rooms, a plunge pool, a jacuzzi, an infrared sauna and a fitness studio.
For events the building is unusually well equipped for its size. The pillarless Grand Ballroom runs 400 square metres and takes 600 for a reception or 350 seated at round tables, and it subdivides into the Park Lane, Marble Arch and Hyde Park Suites when a smaller room is wanted. The Library holds 70 standing, the restaurant the same and the bar 150. An in-house events team runs the floor, catering is made to order and the hotel publishes no music or licensing policy, so amplified sound is a conversation to have with them directly.
