Nobu Hotel London Portman Square opened in 2020 as the global brand's second London hotel, occupying a purpose-built property on the north side of Portman Square in Marylebone. The interiors were designed by David Collins Studio, layering Japanese minimalism across 249 rooms and a series of distinct public spaces: a double-height lobby lounge anchored by a kinetic metal sculpture, the Nobu restaurant with its coffered cedar ceiling and amber pendant lanterns, and the Nobu Bar — a low-lit room of dark timber millwork, gold bar stools, and leather club chairs that becomes a DJ-led social hub from Thursday through Saturday.
The restaurant is the spatial centrepiece: floor-to-ceiling windows frame the plane trees of Portman Square, while woven-panel columns and mustard-yellow banquettes divide the room into intimate zones. Two glass-screened private dining areas open off the main floor — one suited to groups of thirty, the other to sixty — both with the full Nobu kitchen behind them. Upstairs, the Nobu Ballroom spans over 597 square metres, fitted with a nine-metre LED wall, programmable lighting, and soundproofed partitions that can create smaller breakout rooms within the space.
The hotel holds a licence for civil ceremonies and late-night events, with the bar and restaurant trading until 1am on Thursday through Saturday. Events under 700 guests can use the Ballroom in its full configuration; the Sayuri Room accommodates more intimate gatherings in a natural-light setting with the same blue geometric carpet and warm cove lighting as the event floors. The events team, contactable through Jason Burton, coordinates private hire across all spaces with Nobu's signature catering.

Nobu Ballroom
Exclusive HireThe Nobu Ballroom runs to over 597 square metres and is the hotel's principal event space, designed for occasions from intimate dinners to large receptions. A nine-metre LED wall spans the stage end, supported by a full house sound system and programmable architectural lighting. Sliding soundproof partitions allow the room to be divided into three separate sections — Ballroom One to Three — each with independent audio-visual capability. Standing capacity reaches 700 in full configuration; a banquet dinner accommodates 400.
Nobu Bar
Exclusive HireThe Nobu Bar is the hotel's late-night social room: dark timber shelving holds the full spirit collection behind a curved mahogany bar, while leather barrel chairs and low tables fill the floor. DJs play on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, making it the most music-focused space in the building. The bar can be taken exclusively for private events, with standing capacity for up to 110 guests and a seated arrangement for twenty.
Private Dining Room
PrivateThe Private Dining Room sits within the Nobu restaurant behind floor-to-ceiling glass screens and shoji-style panels that give the space its own distinct enclosure while maintaining a sense of connection to the main floor. The room seats up to thirty and can be combined with an adjoining section to accommodate sixty, making it suitable for milestone dinners, business celebrations, or intimate cocktail receptions. The full Nobu kitchen is available for both sittings.
Sayuri Room
PrivateThe Sayuri Room is a self-contained meeting and dining space on the event floor, with oversized windows on two sides that bring natural light across a blue geometric carpet and warm amber cove lighting. Round tables can be configured for a banquet of up to thirty or a standing reception of forty-five. Its modest footprint and clean design make it well-suited to corporate dinners, small celebrations, and breakout suppers after a Ballroom event.
Sakura Boardroom
PrivateThe Sakura Boardroom is an eighteen-seat executive meeting room with tan leather chairs around a dark conference table, a 75-inch display screen, and an adjacent lounge that can serve as a breakout or pre-meeting reception space. Its sightlines to Portman Square give it a quiet, focused feel — best suited to working dinners and intimate corporate gatherings where discretion matters.
