/ About

Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has stood on Portman Square since 1970, taking its name from Sir Winston Churchill. The Qatari-owned property became a Hyatt Regency in 2004, and a 2015-16 refurbishment by DeSallesFlint added six bedrooms and three new ground-floor event spaces, now the Studio Suites; the Gallery, opening onto the square with light from two sides, followed in 2021.

Eleven function rooms sit across two floors. The Chartwell Ballroom, by the entrance, is the largest: a 2,607 sq ft room with a built-in stage, dance floor and PA, licensed to 1am, seating 240 for dinner or holding 350 standing. Next to it, the Library takes its cue from Churchill's own reading habits, lined with his collected works and travel photographs around an open fireplace and a domed, chandeliered ceiling.

The Studio Suites, Marlborough, Blenheim and Spencer suites, and two smaller boardrooms complete the floor plan, giving the hotel a genuine range from an eight-seat meeting room to the full ballroom. The Montagu Kitchen and the Churchill Bar & Terrace handle food and drink outside of private hire, the bar fronted by a small garden terrace off Portman Square.
