Mazi

Mazi (Greek for "together") has been one of Notting Hill's most talked-about tables for over a decade, tucked down Hillgate Street a step off Notting Hill Gate. The kitchen reworks traditional Greek recipes into modern sharing plates. Bright, informal and reliably busy, it trades on a lively room and the Greek habit of eating from the middle of the table.

The walled garden is Mazi's signature space and the reason it works so well for a private gathering. Olive and fig trees stand against whitewashed brick, tables dressed in the restaurant's blue-and-white stripe, the whole courtyard filling with dappled light on a good afternoon. It reads as a small corner of the Aegean behind a Notting Hill terrace, and it lends itself to a relaxed, sociable event rather than a formal one.

For private hire the restaurant offers full buyout of the dining room and garden, and takes bookings for celebrations, brand launches and intimate dinners through its events team; the kitchen also caters off-site. A sister restaurant, Suzi Tros, sits nearby in Notting Hill, with further Mazi outposts in Abu Dhabi and seasonally in Morocco.
