/ About
Maza opened on Bruton Place in March 2026, the Mayfair debut of Christina Mouratoglou and Adrien Carre, the couple behind Mazi and Suzi Tros in Notting Hill. The name is the ancient Greek word for everyday bread, and the room is built around that idea of hospitality: a 1980s Athenian taverna reimagined for a Mayfair mews, serving the childhood dishes the founders return to again and again.
The interiors are by Archer Humphryes, the studio behind Chiltern Firehouse. Oxblood quarry tiles, blue velvet banquettes, polished brass and mirrored surfaces set the tone, with a patterned floor running the length of a room that seats around ninety. An open kitchen and central chargrill anchor the space, its wall hung with framed recipes copied from Christina's grandmother's handwritten cookbook. The wine list is entirely Greek, arranged by character rather than region.
Upstairs sits the vinyl listening bar, a cocktail room built around resident turntables and a DJ station beneath a woven wicker ceiling, soundtracked by Greek records from the 1970s and 1980s. It is the part of Maza that most suits a private evening: the restaurant takes bookings for group celebrations and private events, the long shared tables and Greek vinyl lending themselves to something livelier than dinner alone.
