/ About
Lisboeta is Nuno Mendes's Portuguese restaurant on Charlotte Street, his love letter to Lisbon, the city he grew up in. It is a project with MJMK Restaurants and fills a three-storey townhouse in Fitzrovia. The menu follows the rhythm of eating in Lisbon, with petiscos and sharing dishes such as carabineiro prawn and razor clam rice or chanfana lamb stew, and the wine list is built on producers from the Lisboa region and across Portugal. The restaurant is listed in the MICHELIN Guide.
The architect João Guedes Ramos designed the interiors after the old shops and cafés of Lisbon. There are whitewashed walls and exposed brick, dark wooden cabinetry in the manner of an old pharmacy, a bar cut from Sintra limestone and cobblestone floors laid by masons from Lisbon. On the ground floor, guests eat at the counter in view of the chefs or at window seats onto Charlotte Street. The first-floor dining room is bright under a large skylight and hung with Portuguese art from the chef's own collection.
The Adega is the private dining room, on the lower ground floor beside the wine cellar. It seats up to 12 at one table among shelves of wine, books and ceramics. The kitchen serves a changing sharing menu for the room, and the sommeliers help build a wine selection ahead of the evening.
