/ About
Jean-Georges Vongerichten opened this room in July 2017, on the Mount Street corner of The Connaught. It is more conservatory than dining room: glazed on two sides, with arched fanlights of coloured glass above the windows and lit discs hung low over marble tables. Mayfair carries on a few feet away, on the other side of the glass.
The cooking is the least formal of the hotel's dining rooms. British and Connaught classics sit beside the South-east Asian flavours the chef is known for, built on market produce, and the room runs from breakfast through afternoon tea to a midnight close. It is a return to the group for Vongerichten, who ran Vong at The Berkeley until 2002.
For a private group the kitchen writes a menu to the occasion, whether a business lunch, a dinner or a canapé reception, and a curtained alcove at the back of the room takes a smaller party off the main floor. The Connaught's events team handles the arrangements. The terrace on Mount Street opens through the summer.
