/ About
Idalia fills the ground floor of Pillar Hall, the Grade II* listed hall Henry Edward Coe designed for Olympia in 1886. The room hosted one of Britain's earliest film screenings, and in 1981 Vivienne Westwood showed her first collection here. Des Gunewardena's D3 Collective reopened it on 30 March 2026, the first hospitality opening in the Olympia regeneration.
Robert Angell Design International styled the hall as a modern English country house. Rose-marble columns carry climbing plants, the moulded ceiling is painted in a patchwork of gold and cream, and an oval bar glows orange at the centre of the floor. An open fire burns at the far end. The kitchen, led by Samantha Williams with pastry chef Lorena Tommasi, cooks modern British food with European and Asian accents, and live jazz, soul and R&B play on Friday and Saturday nights.
The whole restaurant and its central bar take exclusive hire for up to 300 seated or 600 standing. The Garden Room, a private dining room under a striped canopy just off the main floor, seats 45, and flexible semi-private areas within the restaurant take groups of up to 100 seated. Every event is catered by the in-house kitchen.
