JW Steakhouse

JW Steakhouse occupies the ground floor of Grosvenor House on Park Lane, the JW Marriott hotel that has faced Hyde Park since 1929. It is London's long-running American steakhouse, and a multimillion-pound refurbishment early in 2026 reset the room around the New York grill houses that inspired it: dark wood panelling, rust-toned leather booths, checkerboard flooring and low, considered lighting, with butcher-style blackboards chalking up the day's cuts above the pass.

The kitchen works prime USDA and British beef over charcoal, carved from a trolley at the table and served with the hearty sides and signature cheesecake that have kept a Mayfair crowd returning for years. Running alongside it is the Bourbon Bar, a bespoke cabinet built from reclaimed barrels holding more than five hundred rare and vintage bourbons, billed as the largest collection outside the United States and worked into tastings, masterclasses and menu pairings.

For private events the wood-panelled private dining room seats up to twelve beneath walls of framed monochrome portraits, suited to a family celebration or a client dinner that wants its own room. Larger groups take over sections of the main floor, and in warmer months the planted JW Garden terrace opens onto Park Lane. Whole-restaurant hire is arranged through the house, with the events team building menus around the occasion.
