COYA City

COYA's City outpost sits on the ground floor of Angel Court, a short walk from Bank. It carries the same Peruvian and Latin American character as the original on Piccadilly, scaled up for the Square Mile: hand-carved furniture, walls hung with contemporary Latin American art, and a canopy of gilded latticework overhead. Three open kitchens run down one side, a ceviche counter, a charcoal grill and a central pass, so the room is worked in front of the guests rather than behind them.

The cooking is contemporary Peruvian with Japanese, Chinese and Spanish inflections, and the drinks lean on pisco, with an infusion library, a long tequila list and Latin American rhythms from resident DJs most evenings. By day it is a City dining room; after dark the bar fills and the music comes up, which is what lets it host a party rather than only a dinner.

For private hire the restaurant divides into distinct spaces, from the fourteen-seat private dining room to the semi-private Inti and Sun Gate rooms, the Pisco Bar and Lounge and an outdoor courtyard, up to a full buy-out of the whole venue for a standing reception. A resident DJ booth and in-house sound make it a natural fit for launches, celebrations and corporate evenings that carry on past dinner.
