/ About
Café 22 is the restaurant at The Twenty Two, the hotel and private members’ club in an Edwardian manor on Grosvenor Square. It reopened in September 2026 with a street door of its own at 43 North Audley Street, and the 92-seat room now runs north to south behind it. Guillaume Glipa, whose record includes the openings of Chiltern Firehouse, Louie London and Annabel’s, oversaw the reopening and has taken it towards a busier neighbourhood café in the Parisian manner.
The cooking is French and follows the hotel’s Global Culinary Director, Alan Christie: canard à l’orange, a truffle roast chicken and a whole grilled sea bass written for the table, then brown butter madeleines and tarte Tatin. A martini trolley mixes at the table, and the cocktail list is served only in the restaurant. The walls belong to an artist in residence, the Moroccan painter and sculptor Mahi Binebine, in a selection curated by Polly-Anna Monckton of ACA Galleries.
For a private occasion the house hires The North Side, the section to the right of the restaurant, for a seated dinner or a drinks reception. Its events menus keep to the French repertoire, with canapés such as a crab doughnut and black truffle arancini, and Champagne, wine and zero-proof cocktails to drink.
