/ About
Cadogan Hall stands on Sloane Terrace, a short walk from Sloane Square. Completed in 1907 as the First Church of Christ, Scientist in a Byzantine Revival style, the listed building fell out of use by the late 1990s before Cadogan Estates bought it and reopened it as a concert hall in 2004. It is the resident home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The auditorium seats 953 across raked stalls and a horseshoe gallery, beneath a barrel-vaulted ceiling and the deep-blue stained glass that survives from the church. It is built for sound and takes a full production: a house grand piano, staging and lighting, and a resident technical team who run the space. Alongside its concert programme the hall is hired for launches, receptions and award ceremonies, with the whole auditorium available on an exclusive basis.
Below the auditorium sit three self-contained rooms. The Culford Room, the largest, holds up to 500 for a reception and takes dinners and presentations; the Caversham Room and the Oakley Room, the latter with its own bar, suit smaller gatherings and serve as green rooms or breakout spaces alongside a main-hall event. The building keeps an 11pm curfew, which shapes what it is booked for.
