National Army Museum

The National Army Museum stands on Royal Hospital Road, next to the Royal Hospital Chelsea and the Grade II-listed stables Sir John Soane designed. The building dates to 1971; a £23.75 million rebuild by BDP reopened it in March 2017, opening up the closed frontage with glazing and running a new atrium the full depth of the plan, from the entrance foyer to the back of the house.

That atrium is the museum's set piece for an evening event. A Lynx helicopter hangs above the floor, glass cases of regimental caps line one wall, and the space takes a reception for 150 or a seated dinner for 80, with room for a dance floor. The glazed Foyer at the entrance holds 220 for a reception; taken together across both levels, the Foyer and Atrium seat up to 300. Elsewhere the Foyle Centre divides into four flexible rooms for conferences and receptions of up to 200, the Café looks down over the atrium, and a panelled Boardroom seats 40 for a private dinner above the Royal Hospital's grounds.

Hire runs outside museum hours through the events team, with catering by Searcys. The museum is a registered charity, and every event contributes to its work.
