/ About

Fortnum & Mason opened 45 Jermyn St. in 2015, on the Jermyn Street corner its Fountain restaurant had occupied for six decades. Martin Brudnizki Design Studio dressed the room in the grand St James's manner: burnt-orange leather banquettes down the centre, curtained booths along the front and back walls, oak parquet underfoot and a long marble bar whose two soda fountains nod to the address's history.

The kitchen cooks modern British, from native oysters and seafood to a Sunday roast and the beef Wellington that has become its signature. A 230-bin wine list and a bar known for its Bloody Marys carry the room from breakfast through late supper. At 113 covers it reads as a proper St James's brasserie, red and marble and quietly glamorous, a few doors from Fortnum's and the Piccadilly galleries.

45 Jermyn St. takes group bookings and hosts private events, with the whole restaurant available for exclusive hire and the bar for arrival drinks. It suits a St James's celebration, a business dinner or a seated party close to Piccadilly.
