Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua

Friday, 11 December 2026 Principality Stadium · Cardiff, Glamorgan

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, the two British heavyweights of their generation, meet at last after more than a decade of collapsed negotiations.

Tyson Fury, who took the world heavyweight titles from Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, meets Anthony Joshua at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Friday 11 December 2026. It settles a British rivalry unfought for more than a decade.

Fury was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester, in 1988 to an Irish Traveller family. Three fights with Deontay Wilder made him the WBC champion. He lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, then this year outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and stopped Mariusz Wach in July.

Joshua was born in Watford in 1989 to British Nigerian parents and won super-heavyweight gold at the London 2012 Olympics. His stoppage of Klitschko at Wembley in 2017 drew a post-war record crowd of 90,000.

He lost his titles to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019 and won them back that December, before two defeats to Usyk. In July he knocked out Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, after being put down twice in the first.

The two camps agreed terms in 2020 and signed for an undisputed contest in 2021, before an arbitration ruling sent Fury back to Wilder. The men have not shared a ring since a sparring session in 2010.
