The Lionesses, European champions in 2022 and 2025, host Ukraine in the deciding leg of their play-off for a place at the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
England’s women, the reigning European champions, play Ukraine at Wembley Stadium in Wembley on Saturday 5 December 2026. The match is the second leg of a play-off for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
The Lionesses won the European Championship at Wembley in 2022 and beat Brazil there in the 2023 Finalissima. They were runners-up at the 2023 World Cup and retained their European title in 2025.
Sarina Wiegman’s side finished second to Spain in their qualifying group, on goal difference. They then beat Greece 8-1 on aggregate in the first round of the play-offs.
The first leg is away on Tuesday 1 December, at a venue still TBC. The winners over two legs take a place at the finals in Brazil, which run from 24 June to 25 July 2027.
Ukraine are coached by Iya Andrushchak and captained by Daryna Apanashchenko. England beat them twice in qualifying this year, 6-1 in a match played in Türkiye and 3-0 in Liverpool.
