Treasure House Fair 2026

24 – 30 June 2026 Royal Hospital Chelsea · Chelsea

The fourth Treasure House Fair gathered some fifty dealers at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and marked ninety years of British Surrealism with forty works from Southampton.

The fourth Treasure House Fair brought some 50 dealers to the Royal Hospital Chelsea from Wednesday 24 to Tuesday 30 June 2026, with Surrealism as its theme.

Thomas Woodham-Smith and Harry van der Hoorn founded the fair in 2023, after Masterpiece, which they had helped start in 2009, folded. It keeps that fair’s rule of mixing antiquity, old masters, jewellery, furniture, rare books and modern art on one floor. Independent specialists vet every object before it is shown.

Woodham-Smith describes it as the summer art fair, a festival in the grounds of Christopher Wren’s hospital. The 2026 edition was smaller than its predecessors.

Its non-selling display brought 40 works from Southampton City Art Gallery, marking 90 years since the 1936 International Surrealist Exhibition in London.

Jewellery led the preview. Martyn Downer gave his whole stand to a heart-shaped memento mori pendant made in 1634 for the death of a six-year-old boy. Wartski brought a 1970 Cartier bracelet by Aldo Cipullo, the designer of the Love bracelet.

Greens of Cheltenham showed a signet ring made about 1557 for Sir Thomas Tresham. The Porto house Rosior, founded in 1978, made its first appearance at a European fair.
