RM Sotheby's London 2026

Saturday, 31 October 2026 The Peninsula London · Belgravia

RM Sotheby's holds its London auction at The Peninsula on Saturday 31 October 2026. The lots are on view from ten; the sale itself runs from four until six.

Rob Myers founded RM in Blenheim, Ontario, in 1991, restoring collector cars long before he auctioned them, and it now trades in partnership with Sotheby’s as the largest collector car auctioneer in the world. It runs its own calendar, entirely separate from the sale calendar of the New Bond Street rooms, which is worth saying plainly because the two names on the letterhead lead people to read them as one business.

A car auction of this rank behaves nothing like a picture sale. The lots arrive under their own power, the condition report runs to engine numbers and matching bodywork, provenance means a continuous ownership history and a file of invoices, and a single missing document can halve a price. Buyers inspect for a day and bid in two hours.

The 2026 London sale is at The Peninsula on Grosvenor Place on Saturday 31 October, with the preview from ten in the morning and the sale itself from four until six. The date is deliberate: the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run leaves Hyde Park the following morning, so the historic motoring world is already in the city. One room, one day, and the cars are gone by Sunday. The house is the collector motor car specialist rather than a general auctioneer with a car department, which is the distinction that decides where a significant car is consigned.
