Kiefer Sutherland and Rebel Wilson premiered Tinsel Town, a Yorkshire-shot Christmas comedy about a Hollywood star cast in a village pantomime, in Leicester Square.
Tinsel Town, a Christmas comedy made for Sky, had its world premiere at the Vue in Leicester Square on Thursday 27 November 2025. Kiefer Sutherland and Rebel Wilson led the cast, with Robbie Williams and Ayda Field Williams among the guests.
Sutherland was born at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington in 1966, the son of the Canadian actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, who were then working in England. His first leading role, in the Canadian drama The Bay Boy, earned him a Genie nomination, and Stand by Me, The Lost Boys, Young Guns, Flatliners and A Few Good Men followed. Jack Bauer in 24 defined his career from 2001, bringing him both an Emmy and a Golden Globe, and he later led Designated Survivor as an accidental American president.
In Tinsel Town he plays Bradley Mack, a Hollywood action star who has run out of work and flies to England expecting a West End stage role, only to find himself cast as Buttons in a small-town Cinderella. Wilson plays the pantomime’s choreographer. Chris Foggin directed from a screenplay by Piers Ashworth, Adam Brown and Frazer Flintham, and the film was shot in Yorkshire, partly in Knaresborough.
Derek Jacobi, Katherine Ryan and Ray Fearon, who all appear in the film, joined Sutherland and Wilson at the Vue, and Tinsel Town opened in British cinemas on 5 December.
