Played at Stoke Park since 2002 under the name The Boodles, The Tennis Invitational gives leading players their last competitive grass-court matches before Wimbledon.
The Tennis Invitational, the grass-court exhibition long known as The Boodles, returns to Stoke Park in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, from Tuesday 22 to Saturday 26 June 2027. It falls in the final week before Wimbledon.
The sports agent Patricio Apey started the event in 2002 with the jeweller Boodles. His players needed competitive matches on grass while the practice courts at the All England Club were crowded.
Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are among the players it has drawn. The event lost three summers, two to the pandemic and one to renovation at the club, before it returned in 2023.
The 2026 meeting was its 22nd edition. ACE Group International now runs it as The Tennis Invitational on the same lawns.
Each player is guaranteed at least three matches over the five days, so leading names come here to sharpen their grass-court game.
Stoke Park is one of the oldest country clubs in Britain, a mansion in parkland beside a lake and a golf course. Play runs around a stadium court, and the Players’ and Legends’ Enclosures are its two hospitality lawns.
