Tom Hiddleston returned as Jonathan Pine at the London premiere of the second series of The Night Manager, eight years after the first.
Tom Hiddleston returned as Jonathan Pine at the London premiere of The Night Manager’s second series at BFI Southbank on the South Bank on Wednesday 10 December 2025. Camila Morrone, Indira Varma and Alistair Petrie joined him.
Hiddleston, born in Westminster in 1981, trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after reading Classics at Pembroke College, Cambridge. He won the Olivier Award for Best Newcomer for Cymbeline in 2008, and Kenneth Branagh cast him as Loki in Thor in 2011.
The first series of The Night Manager, broadcast on BBC One in 2016, won him the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a limited series.
The new series goes beyond John le Carré’s novel. David Farr created and wrote it, and Georgi Banks-Davies directed every episode.
Pine now lives under another name, running a surveillance unit for MI6 in London. A chance sighting draws him to Colombia and to the arms dealer Teddy Dos Santos, played by Diego Calva.
Morrone plays the businesswoman Roxana Bolaños, and Olivia Colman returns as Angela Burr. The series began on BBC One and iPlayer on New Year’s Day 2026.
