Jannik Sinner kept the gentlemen’s trophy in 2026 after a near four-hour final, and Linda Nosková won her first major after five missed Championship points.
The 139th Championships ran at The All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon from Monday 29 June to Sunday 12 July 2026. Jannik Sinner and Linda Nosková won the singles.
The event began in July 1877 as a gentlemen’s singles alone. Twenty-two men paid a guinea each to enter, and Spencer Gore won the first title. The ladies followed in 1884.
The ladies’ champion receives the Venus Rosewater Dish, and the 2026 winner became its tenth successive different name.
Nosková, 21, met her compatriot Karolína Muchová in the ladies’ final. She led by a set and 5-2 and held five Championship points, and Muchová saved every one. Nosková converted her sixth to win 6-2 5-7 6-3, the third Czech champion in four years.
A day later Sinner defended his title against Alexander Zverev, winning 6-7 7-6 6-3 6-4 after three hours and 46 minutes. He had beaten Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
Sinner faced no break point until the third set. A drop shot then left Zverev sprawling on his right knee, and Sinner hurried over to help him up. Zverev served a double fault, and Sinner took the first break of the match.
