Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver and Jon Favreau met fans in Leicester Square for The Mandalorian and Grogu, the first Star Wars film in cinemas in more than six years.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu held its UK fan premiere at Cineworld Leicester Square in the West End on Thursday 7 May 2026. Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver led the cast.
Pascal, who plays the bounty hunter Din Djarin, was born in Santiago in 1975. His parents fled Chile with him as a child after the 1973 coup. He trained at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones made his name in 2014.
Weaver was born in New York in 1949. Her Ellen Ripley in Alien made her name in 1979, and Aliens brought the first of her three Academy Award nominations.
Jon Favreau, who directed the film, created The Mandalorian for Disney+ in 2019 and wrote the film as its continuation. In it, the New Republic enlists Djarin and his apprentice, Grogu, to rescue Rotta the Hutt.
It was the first Star Wars film in cinemas in more than six years, and London’s fans saw it a week before its premiere in Los Angeles. It opened in British cinemas on 22 May.
Favreau and the producer Kathleen Kennedy joined the cast on the carpet.
