Spartacus: House of Ashur International Premiere

Wednesday, 3 December 2025 Everyman at The Whiteley · Bayswater

Nick E. Tarabay and the creator Steven S. DeKnight launched Spartacus: House of Ashur, a new chapter of the gladiator saga, at its international premiere in Bayswater.

MGM+ held the international premiere of Spartacus: House of Ashur, the gladiator saga’s return after twelve years, at Everyman at The Whiteley in Bayswater on Wednesday 3 December 2025. Its star, Nick E. Tarabay, and its creator, Steven S. DeKnight, attended.

Tarabay was born in Beirut in 1975 and moved to New York, where he studied acting at the T. Schreiber Studio. Small parts in Sex and the City and The Sopranos followed.

In 2010 he was cast as Ashur, the injured gladiator turned spy, in Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He played Cotyar in The Expanse before returning to the part as the series lead. DeKnight wrote for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel before he created Spartacus.

The new series imagines that Ashur survived Mount Vesuvius and was given his former master’s ludus for helping Rome crush the slave rebellion. Tenika Davis plays Achillia, with Claudia Black as Cossutia and Graham McTavish as Korris.

Davis and Black joined them at the premiere with India Shaw-Smith, Leigh Gill, Jamaica Vaughan and the director Rick Jacobson. After the screening, actors in character performed in an immersive room downstairs. MGM+ began streaming the series in Britain on Saturday 6 December.
