The Red Roses, world champions since their 33-13 final win at Twickenham in 2025, meet France on the same ground in the Women’s Six Nations.

The Red Roses, world champions since 2025, meet France in the Women’s Six Nations at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on Saturday 15 May 2027.

England’s women have won the championship 22 times in 31 editions, 20 of them as Grand Slams. They took five Grand Slams in a row from 2022 to 2026.

They have won the World Cup three times, in 1994, 2014 and 2025. The last came on this ground in September 2025, a 33-13 win over Canada in front of 81,885, a world record for a women’s rugby match. Alex Matthews scored two tries in that final.

Meg Jones was named captain in March 2026, and John Mitchell coaches the side.

France are the opponent England have found hardest in Europe. They joined the championship in 1998-99, when it became the Five Nations, and England answered with three successive Grand Slams.

Before the 2025 World Cup the two sides had met 58 times since 1991. France had won 13 of those matches, more than any team except New Zealand.
