Oleksandr Usyk v Daniel Dubois II

Saturday, 19 July 2025 Wembley Stadium · Wembley

Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois met for the undisputed heavyweight championship, the first such fight on British soil in more than a century.

Oleksandr Usyk, the London 2012 Olympic heavyweight champion, knocked out Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in Wembley on Saturday 19 July 2025. He became undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time.

Usyk was born in Simferopol, Crimea, in 1987. As a professional he became the first Ukrainian undisputed champion at cruiserweight in 2018, then moved up to beat Anthony Joshua twice. In May 2024 he beat Tyson Fury to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

Dubois, from Greenwich in south-east London, is ten years younger. Usyk had stopped him in Wrocław in 2023, and Dubois then stopped Joshua at Wembley in September 2024 to keep the IBF title.

Usyk had given up that belt to rematch Fury, so the undisputed title was whole again only on this night.

It was the first undisputed heavyweight fight in Britain since Tommy Burns met Jem Roche in 1908, and 90,000 watched it. In the fifth round Usyk dropped Dubois with a right hook, then a left hook, and the referee, Mike Griffin, counted him out.
