Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan returned to London with Freakier Friday, the sequel to their 2003 body-swap comedy, on a green and purple carpet.
Freakier Friday, the sequel to Freaky Friday, held its UK premiere at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in the West End on Thursday 31 July 2025. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, who first swapped bodies on screen in 2003, led the cast.
Curtis was born in Santa Monica in 1958, the youngest daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She made her film debut as Laurie Strode in John Carpenter’s Halloween, the role that made her name.
Trading Places won her a BAFTA and True Lies a Golden Globe. Everything Everywhere All at Once brought her the Academy Award in 2023.
Nisha Ganatra directed the sequel, which picks up years after Tess and Anna Coleman first swapped bodies, now with two families about to merge. The film was planned for streaming and moved to cinemas at the request of Curtis and Lohan.
Chad Michael Murray, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons and Manny Jacinto joined the two stars on a green and purple carpet, with Ganatra and the producer Kristin Burr. Disney released the film in British cinemas on 8 August 2025, and it went on to gross more than $150 million worldwide.
