A24 brought Eternity, David Freyne’s romantic comedy set in the afterlife, to The Cinema in the Power Station in Battersea for its UK premiere on Monday 17 November 2025.
Elizabeth Olsen was born in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, in 1989, the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and began acting beside them at four. Her own film debut came in Martha Marcy May Marlene in 2011, a nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award followed, and she graduated from New York University. Since 2014 she has played Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, and WandaVision brought her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. Miles Teller made his debut in Rabbit Hole, broke through as the drummer in Whiplash in 2014 and starred in Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.
Freyne, whose Dating Amber followed two closeted teenagers in 1990s Ireland, wrote Eternity with Pat Cunnane. Joan, played by Olsen, arrives in the afterlife with one week to choose where to spend eternity, and with whom: the husband of sixty-five years, played by Teller, or the first husband lost young in the Korean War, played by Callum Turner. The film opened at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph and John Early joined Olsen, Teller and Freyne on the carpet, while Turner was filming in New York, and the film reached British cinemas on Friday 5 December.
