The Women’s Ashes come to The Oval for an evening Twenty20 international, at a ground where England have won all six of their women’s T20 matches.
The Women’s Ashes come to The Kia Oval in Kennington for an evening Twenty20 international on Tuesday 6 July 2027. It is the second of three in the series between England and Australia.
The rivalry is the oldest in women’s international cricket. England toured Australia in the 1934 to 1935 season for the first women’s Test series played anywhere, and The Oval staged its first women’s Test against Australia in 1937.
Until 2013 the trophy went with the Tests alone. It is now decided on points across every format, so a Twenty20 win is worth two points in the same table as a Test.
Australia have held the Ashes since 2015 and retained them in five series in a row. The 2023 series ended level on points, with Australia keeping the trophy. Nat Sciver-Brunt’s England come into the summer after losing the 2026 T20 World Cup final to Australia at Lord’s.
England have a perfect record in the format at The Oval. They have won all six of the women’s Twenty20 internationals they have played there, including the Ashes match in 2023 that began their recovery in that series.
