Bangladesh play a Test at Lord’s for the first time since 2010, a one-off match that opens England’s Ashes summer.
Bangladesh play a Test at Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood for the first time since 2010, meeting England from Friday 28 May to Tuesday 1 June 2027.
Thomas Lord laid out the present ground in 1814, and the Marylebone Cricket Club has owned it ever since. The club still writes the Laws of the game.
The ground holds a museum of cricket alongside the Pavilion, where the honours boards record every Test century and every five-wicket haul made there.
The May 2010 match put names on those boards. Jonathan Trott’s 226 took England to 505, Tamim Iqbal made 103 from 100 balls as Bangladesh followed on, and Steven Finn took five for 87.
England won by eight wickets. Bangladesh went on to beat England for the first time that July, in a one-day international.
This Test is a one-off rather than part of a series. England play it after a five-match one-day series against Pakistan from 15 May. It is their only Test before the Ashes open at Trent Bridge on 18 June.
