Steven Spielberg brought his alien thriller Disclosure Day to Leicester Square, with Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colin Firth beside him on the carpet.
Steven Spielberg brought Disclosure Day to Cineworld Leicester Square in the West End for its UK premiere on Thursday 4 June 2026, two days after its world premiere in Paris. Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colin Firth joined him.
Spielberg was born in Cincinnati in 1946 and made his first films as a boy on his father’s 8mm camera. An unpaid stint on the Universal lot led to a television contract and then Jaws. He won the Academy Award for Best Director for Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan.
Disclosure Day returns him to the alien encounter of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. David Koepp wrote the screenplay, and John Williams wrote the score, his 30th for the director.
Blunt, who leads the cast, was born in Wandsworth in 1983. She made her West End debut opposite Judi Dench in The Royal Family in 2001, before My Summer of Love and The Devil Wears Prada.
She plays a television meteorologist who witnesses an alien encounter on air. O’Connor plays a cybersecurity analyst exposing government files on extraterrestrial life, and Firth a contractor working to stop them. Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson and Wyatt Russell complete the cast.
