Collect held its 21st edition at Somerset House in 2025, with forty galleries, more than 400 living artists and eight newcomers to the fair.
The Crafts Council’s Collect fair held its 21st edition at Somerset House in Covent Garden from Wednesday 26 February to Sunday 2 March 2025. The first two days were previews.
Forty galleries showed the work of more than 400 living artists from over 30 countries, among them South Korea, Japan, Ukraine and South Africa. Eight of the galleries were new, from Taiwan, Switzerland, Cyprus and across the UK.
Most works had been made in the previous five years, and many were commissioned for the fair. The buyers were collectors, interior designers and architects, alongside institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Somerset House gave each gallery a neoclassical chamber to fit out in its own way. The materials ranged from ceramic, glass and lacquer to denim, beeswax and resin.
Collect Open, the fair’s platform for single-artist installations, showed ten projects, with the interior architects Spinocchia Freund as its partner. The Loewe Foundation, another partner, presented its 2024 Craft Prize winner.
Among the stands, 1882 Ltd of Stoke-on-Trent showed pieces by Max Lamb and Giles Deacon. Galerie Mélissa Paul gave the French ceramicist Agnès Debizet her first solo show in the UK.
