Team Riyadh won Chestertons Polo in the Park for a third year running in 2026, and England took the Olympic Trophy from South Africa at Hurlingham Park.
Chestertons Polo in the Park returned to Hurlingham Park in Fulham from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 June 2026, beside the club that wrote the sport’s rules.
The Hurlingham Club took its Fulham estate in 1869 as a shooting club. Four years later it published the rules of polo that most of the world still follows.
The first match on its ground was played on 6 June 1874. The ground hosted the polo at the 1908 Olympics, and play lasted until 1939, when the war took the No. 1 ground for allotments.
Polo came back in 2009, the first time in 70 years, on land that had become a public park. The tournament adjusts the rules for a faster game played closer to the spectators, with teams named for cities rather than patrons.
Six teams played in 2026: Texas, Cape Town, Riyadh, London, Zurich and a side called Rivals. England, fielding Max Charlton, Ed Banner-Eve and Hazel Jackson, narrowly beat South Africa on International Day to take the Olympic Trophy.
On the Sunday Red Sea Global Team Riyadh won the final, its third title in three years, after finals against London in 2024 and Punta Cana in 2025.
