Chestertons Polo in the Park 2025

6 – 8 June 2025 Hurlingham Park · Fulham

Team Riyadh retained the Chestertons Polo in the Park title at Hurlingham Park in 2025, beating Punta Cana 10-5 in the final of its 15th edition.

Chestertons Polo in the Park brought six city teams to Hurlingham Park in Fulham from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 June 2025, for the tournament’s 15th edition.

The Hurlingham Club, founded in Fulham in 1869, published the rules of polo in 1873, and most of the world still plays to them. Polo was first played on its ground on 6 June 1874, and the ground held the polo at the 1908 Olympic Games.

Play continued until the Second World War, when the No. 1 ground was turned over to allotments in 1939. The land became a public park in the 1950s, and polo returned in 2009 for the first time in 70 years.

The tournament adjusts the rules to quicken play and bring spectators closer to the ponies. Its teams are named for cities rather than patrons.

International Day ended with Argentina beating England for the Olympic Trophy. On the Sunday Team Riyadh beat Punta Cana 10-5 in the final, keeping the title they had won the year before with a 6-2 win over London.
