Park Place beat La Dolfina/Marques de Riscal 9-8 in the 2025 Cartier Queen’s Cup Final, and Hilario Ulloa scored the winner in the last four minutes.

Park Place won the Cartier Queen’s Cup on Sunday 15 June 2025, beating La Dolfina/Marques de Riscal 9-8 in the final at Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park. Andrey Borodin’s team had lost four earlier finals.

The tournament is the leading fixture of Guards Polo Club, which was founded on 25 January 1955 with the Duke of Edinburgh as its first President, a role he held for sixty-six years. The club began as the Household Brigade Polo Club and took its present name in 1969. Cartier has sponsored the Queen’s Cup since 2012. Its semi-finals, played four days before the final, were the last step in a league season that ran from May.

Park Place opened the final with a 3-0 lead and led 5-4 at half-time. La Dolfina/Marques de Riscal, whose Poroto Cambiaso scored six of their eight goals, levelled at 8-8 in the fifth chukka. With four minutes left, Hilario Ulloa took the ball from a penalty on the halfway line and ran it through traffic to score the winner. Laurent Feniou, Managing Director of Cartier UK, presented Borodin with the trophy, and Ulloa was named Cartier Most Valuable Player, with the Best Playing Pony prize going to Why Not I’m Easy, a nine-year-old chestnut mare. Earlier that day Sujan Indian Tigers had won the sub-final 12-9 against La Dolfina/Scone.
