British Art Fair 2025

25 – 28 September 2025 Saatchi Gallery · Chelsea

The 2025 British Art Fair drew more than 13,000 visitors to the Saatchi Gallery and sold a Ravilious watercolour on its first market appearance.

The British Art Fair, the fair of Modern British art, took place at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 September 2025. More than 13,000 visitors came through.

The fair opened in 1988 on the argument that Modern British painting deserved a fair of its own. Ramsay Fairs owns it, a committee of dealers advises it, and a vetting committee checks each work before it reaches a stand.

Sales ran from £1,000 to more than £100,000, across names from Sybil Andrews and Vanessa Bell to Henry Moore, L.S. Lowry and Bridget Riley. Liss Llewellyn sold Eric Ravilious’s River Thames at Hammersmith, one of only two watercolours he made of London.

Lent to Towner Eastbourne for over four decades, it was on the market for the first time. Abbott and Holder sold a rare early Stanley Spencer study, and dealers reported a great deal of interest in Bloomsbury.

Around the main floor sat Unsung, Colin Gleadell’s selection of more than 30 artists due for reappraisal. SOLO Contemporary ran its fourth edition, and the Digitalism section showed over 60 artists. Hospital Rooms, the charity partner, installed an artist-decorated interior.
