BMW PGA Championship 2027

23 – 26 September 2027 Wentworth Club · Virginia Water, Surrey

The DP World Tour’s flagship championship returns to Wentworth’s West Course, the week after Europe defend the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.

The DP World Tour’s flagship championship returns to Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 September 2027.

The Professional Golfers’ Association founded the championship in 1955, and it has been played on Wentworth’s West Course every year since 1984. The tour has its headquarters at the club, which is why the event is treated as its home tournament.

Wentworth was founded in 1922 by the builder W. G. Tarrant, who brought in Harry Colt to lay out the courses. Colt’s West Course opened in 1926. The club staged the 1953 Ryder Cup.

The winner earns a place in the US Open and the next three Open Championships. Colin Montgomerie remains the only player to have won it three years in a row.

The championship moved from the late May bank holiday to September in 2019. The 2027 date was moved to follow the Ryder Cup, which Europe defend at Adare Manor in Ireland from 17 to 19 September.

J. J. Spaun won in 2026 at 17 under par, two strokes clear of a group that included Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott.
