Odyssey: Imaginary Cartographies by Markos Kampanis
An Embassy-hosted exhibition at the Greek Ambassador's residence — Markos Kampanis's painterly voyage through the Odyssey on a digital facsimile of a 15th-century British Library Homer.
Presented by the Embassy of Greece at the Hellenic Residence in Mayfair, this contemporary exhibition charts a painterly voyage through the Odyssey along a parallel, imagined geography. Its centrepiece is a four-volume artist’s book, worked in charcoal and ink over a digital reproduction of a 15th-century Homer manuscript held by the British Library. Paintings, books and map-based pieces trace the journeys of Odysseus and Telemachus through Kampanis’s distinctive visual language. The artist is present throughout the run, and admission is free.
