Seventeen works by fifteen international artists from the Irene Y. Panagopoulos Collection, curated by Katerina Hadji — Greece as both a place and an idea.

Fernweh names the ache for places you have never been — the inverse of nostalgia, and the organising idea behind this showing from the Irene Y. Panagopoulos Collection. Curated by Katerina Hadji, it gathers seventeen works by fifteen international artists around Greece as both a location and a concept, a country where, in the show’s own phrase, past and present meet through the act of looking.

The works come from a single private collection rather than a museum, which is what makes the London airing unusual. It opens on 8 October, runs through Frieze week with late Thursday hours, and closes on 7 November.
