Angelo Tsarouchas, the Montreal-born comedian of the Greek diaspora, brought The Diaspora Tour and its stories of growing up Greek abroad to the Leicester Square Theatre.
Angelo Tsarouchas, billed as the king of Greek ethnic comedy, brought The Diaspora Tour to Leicester Square Theatre in the West End on Saturday 3 October 2026.
He was born Evangelos Petros Tsarouchas in Montreal in 1964 and has worked as a stand-up comedian since 1998. He now lives in Los Angeles, where he also works as an actor and writer.
His material rests on the culture clash of growing up Greek in the western world: the family, the arguments and a name few outside the community can pronounce. He tells it in stories rather than one-liners, built on the particular: the grandmother’s verdict, the wedding, the weight of a first-generation accent.
He tours across Europe, Australia and North America, to diaspora audiences who recognise every detail as their own. The Diaspora Tour, his new show, turned his travels, his family life and the absurdities of the everyday into long-form stories.
The theatre opened in 1953 as Notre Dame Hall, part of the rebuilding of the neighbouring church after wartime bombing. It seats 400 people, and The Clash previewed London Calling on its stage in 1979.
