Alexandros Tsouvelas, the Athens radio impressionist who became an arena-scale comedian, returns to London with TSOUVELAS II, a show of characters, storytelling and improvisation.
Alexandros Tsouvelas, who sold out the 19,720 seats of the Telekom Center Athens in September, brings TSOUVELAS II to the Troxy in Limehouse on Sunday 25 October 2026.
Tsouvelas grew up in Peristeri, in west Athens, the son of a priest in a family from Arta. He finished a degree at the International Hellenic University and sang at village festivals for a living.
Sports radio found him next. His impressions of coaches, players, officials and reporters made his name before anyone had seen his face.
The neighbourhood and the family remain the source of most of his material. He works without a fixed script, on impressions, self-mockery, a fast pace and crowd work, so much of each night is made in the room.
TSOUVELAS II brings him back to London with ninety minutes of characters, storytelling and improvisation. Its cast of invented figures is both earthly and extraterrestrial.
Tsouvi, as his audience calls him, plays it in the Troxy’s main hall, an art deco room built as a cinema in 1933.
