The Pelican

A Victorian public house on the corner of All Saints Road, The Pelican keeps a proper bar at the front and a dining room behind it. The interiors are worn plaster, salvaged chairs and open fires rather than anything showy, and the kitchen works from named farms, including the group's own market garden at Bruern. The MICHELIN Guide awards it a Bib Gourmand.
Private hire runs to two spaces. The Pelican Room sits on the first floor and takes thirty seated or fifty standing. It has its own hand-crafted bar with beer taps. An original fireplace and tall sash windows onto Tavistock Gardens are still in place, and a pull-down screen and projector are fitted, so the room also takes a private screening.
Downstairs, The Fireplace seats twelve at one table in the corner of the pub, next to the hearth. It suits a dinner that wants the room's noise around it rather than a door closed on it. Both spaces are booked direct through the pub's events team.

PrivateThe first-floor room, directly above the pub. It carries its own hand-crafted bar with beer taps, an original fireplace and restored flooring, and sash windows that look onto Tavistock Gardens. A pull-down screen and projector are fitted. The room takes one long table for a seated dinner, or round tables and standing for a drinks party.
The Fireplace
Semi PrivateOne long table in the corner of the pub, set beside the original brick hearth with a bench along one side. It is not a closed room, so the pub stays around it, and it runs the same set menu as the private room upstairs.
