Directly opposite Kensington Palace, The Milestone Hotel & Residences occupies a Grade II listed Victorian mansion on Kensington Court. Built in the 1880s on the site of the 1689 Kensington House, the property has been one of London's most discreet five-star addresses for decades, operated by The Red Carnation Hotel Collection since the late 1990s. The interiors read as a single continuous act of connoisseurship: aged pine panelling, original oil paintings, stained-glass windows, and Gothic stone arches sit alongside plasterwork ceilings and open fireplaces in rooms that feel genuinely inhabited rather than staged.

For private events the hotel offers five bookable spaces of very different character. The Windsor Suite is a panelled boardroom that converts for banquets of up to thirty or receptions of forty. The Oratory — the mansion's original Victorian chapel — is among London's most unusual private dining rooms, with white Gothic arches, leaded stained-glass windows and a marble floor that seats eight in absolute privacy. The Park Lounge, with its floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, crimson striped drapes and views across Kensington Gardens, works as a drawing-room reception for up to thirty. The Stables Bar, named for the building's original carriage house, is a cocktail bar with dark panelled walls, green leather banquettes and sporting art throughout. Adjoining it is The Hideaway, a candlelit private room for twelve.
