/ About

The Shepherd Mayfair opened on 5 October 2026 on Stanhope Row, at the Park Lane end of Shepherd Market. The plot has the longest claim in the neighbourhood: Mayfair's oldest known house, The Cottage, stood here from 1618, when a shepherd grazed his flock on ground that Edward Shepherd would turn into the market a century later. The building last traded as the Park Lane Mews Hotel. Bain Capital and Orka Investments bought the site in 2021, took consent in 2023, and rebuilt it as 82 rooms and suites across six floors and 33,600 square feet, with Buckley Gray Yeoman on the architecture and Timothy Shepherd of Shepherd& on the interiors. Photographs by Jack English and George McLeod hang along the corridors.

Three rooms sit on the public floors. Fayre is the ground-floor British brasserie, 62 covers under a barrel-vaulted ceiling of amber glass with a burgundy surround, brushed brass and artwork by Adam Ellis. The Lounge runs beside it, 46 covers and an outdoor terrace, open from eight in the morning until eleven at night, coffee and pastries early and drinks late. Below ground is Teddy's, the cocktail bar, reached by a discreet door on Market Mews, by its own lift, or through an archway off the lobby.

Teddy's is the room to ask about for a music-led evening. The hotel's own account of it is a DJ setting the mood and a live band on occasion, and sitting a floor below the street helps. There is no ballroom and no function suite here, so the format suits a dinner, a launch or a late private reception rather than several hundred guests. Hire is arranged with the team direct.
